GENERAL INFORMATION

When you travel along the VIA BALTICA highway running across the three Baltic States, within an hour and a half journey from Vilnius, the capital, will take you to the Panevezys Region, one of the biggest regions of Lithuania. The region begins starting with the 102nd kilometre of the highway and occupies the area of 2202 sq.km.with 42 600 residents. The region includes the Town of Ramygala, 9 townships and over 600 villages.
The roads from Panevezys lead to the centres of the regions making the Panevezys County. Going to Piniava direction you will find Pasvalys to be within hand's reach, going the Paliuniskis direction you can get to Vabalninkas and Birzai, after passing Tiltagaliai and having crossed the Levuo River you can access Kupiskis.
The neighbours of the Panevezys Region are the Kedainiai, Radviliskis and Anyksciai regions. The distance to the closed Port of Klaipeda is 250 km. The Radviliskis-Daugavpils railway line runs across the Panevezys Region.
